Eye Make Up Tips That Actually Work

Choosing An Eye Firming Cream

Like many of you, I am a product junkie. You are reading this because you have an obvious interest in cosmetics and, specifically, eye firming creams. Since you’re here, let’s have a word about eye firming creams.

In all of my years of buying and using under eye products, I have discovered one thing. There really is not a whole lot of difference between the creams that are available today. Although they claim to do one thing or another, just using them is the point.

Sure, an eye firming cream can firm the skin under your eyes. However, these creams also prevent wrinkles and make the eye area look better in general. And an anti wrinkle cream also makes skin look firmer. So, even though these creams are marketed as performing a specific function, they are really good to use all the way around.

Trying An Eye Firming Cream

Under eye firming creams and gels are manufactured in a variety of formulas and brands. My suggestion is always to stick with a well known brand name product. You do generally get what you pay for. Also, remember to completely use a cream up before you pass judgment on whether or not it works for you. Sometimes it takes several weeks for you to see any difference in the under eye area.

A Great Look Starts With Great Skin

The best makeup looks begin with great skin. With all of the products available today, there’s no excuse for not having great skin. This is not to say that you need a drawer full of beauty products in order to stay young looking. Real eye beauty takes only a minute a day.

When using eye firming creams, the most important thing to remember is to pat the formula on. Don’t rub! You can’t firm skin that you’ve permanently damaged by tugging and pulling. Remember, that under eye skin is very delicate.

Day Creams vs. Night Creams

Buy an eye firming cream according to your style of caring for your skin. Many of us will invest more time into our morning routine than our nighttime one, so buy a day cream or a night cream according to which one fits best into your own personal routine.

If you are really ambitious, buy both a day cream and a night cream. Remember, because you don’t want your makeup to slide off your face, stick with the lighter gel-based formulas for daytime use. A heavier formula of eye firming cream is fine for nighttime use.

I prefer a nighttime cream because I don’t like my skin to feel tight and dry after my nighttime cleansing. Be sure to pat the cream or gel gently around the eye area, but don’t get too close to the eye itself. Eye creams can sting if they get into your eyes!

If you have very dry skin, you may want to consider a daytime cream to help moisturize the undereye area and keep your makeup from settling into your wrinkles and creases. Experiment with eye firming creams to find the best one for you. Your skin will thank you!
