How to Create the Perfect Sultry Eye Makeup
If you want to look like a sexpot for a night on the town, you need to know how to apply sultry eye makeup. This is how you do it...
Things You’ll Need
Black kohl pencil eye liner
Black or silver liquid eye liner
Eye shadow palette in plums
Iridescent powder eye shadows
Eye shadow primer (optional)
Black mascara
Brow powder palette in brown
Eye shadow contour brush
Eyebrow brush
Steps
Step1
In order to create a sultry eye, you must frame it first. Fill in the eyebrows by using the eyebrow brush dipped in the powder that corresponds to your brow color. Rule of thumb, it should match your natural hair color. Glide the color along the brow line until it’s fully filled in.
Step2
Start your eye makeup off by either coating it with a mousse textured eye shadow primer or eye shadow that comes in that format and using your fingers, glide it across both lids. This will help maintain any other eye shadow colors that you will layer onto of it and prevent fading.
Step3
Then, with your eye shadow contour brush, tap into a plum or purple eye shadow and brush it across the top lid creating spectacle and drama.
Step4
If you’re feeling adventurous and are adept at it, then you can layer another color on top of the plum to add more dimension. If you’re not as skilled, then just the plum should suffice.
Step5
Wipe your brush off with a tissue to remove any trace of the plum shadow, then coat the brush with some iridescent powder eye shadows in a soft color like champagne.
Step6
Brush the color right under your brow bone and above the plum shadow. This is used as a highlighter to further open up the eyes and make them pop. The iridescence in the powder will make the eye sparkle a bit more.
Step7
Take the black kohl pencil and start lining the eyes from the inside lid to the outside following just above your lash line.
Step8
Repeat the same step and line the eyes below the lash line too.
Step9
Some kohl pencils will have on the opposite tip, a sponge top. This is used to help smudge the kohl liner to create added depth. Use the sponge tip to smudge the liner above the lashes a little bit.
Step10
Finish it off with a few coats of black mascara on the upper and lower lashes. Apply as many coats until you reach the desired intensity. Usually two to three coats will suffice.
